Authentic Mode 1

DPL = F, level with the tristropha sung to A-[men]

Plagal Mode 2

DPL = D, level with the final pitch on the facsimile

Authentic Mode 3

DPL = G, level with last pitch

Plagal Mode 4

DPL = F, level with the 2nd last pitch

Authentic Mode 5

DPL = A, level with the 3rd above final pitch

Plagal Mode 6

DPL = F, level with the final pitch

Authentic Mode 7

DPL = B, level with a 3rd above the final pitch

Plagal Mode 8

DPL = G, level with the final pitch

NB. In authentic modes the pitch-at-line is a 3rd above the final. In plagal modes it is the final (mode 4 excepted, where it is F, not E).
