Dr Philip Rose

 

Research Interests:

Dr Philip Rose is a Reader in Linguistics, Arts. He studies phonetics and phonology, is an expert on tone languages and on Chinese and Chinese dialects, and on forensic speaker identification. He has been a British Academy Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh, and held positions on the Council of the International Phonetic Association, the Forensic Standards Committee of the Australian Speech Science and Technology Association, and the Research Committee of the National Voice Centre of Australia.
