Charles SMITH was born in 1756; On 22 Dec 1751, the entire population of Stourton was invited to dine at Stourthead. There was no-one surnamed SMITH. In 1750, George and Martha SMITH of Zeals had a daughter Mary baptised in Stourton, then a Kilmington family (John & Ann) baptised a child there in 1754. There does not appear to have been a SMITH family in Stourton at the time Charles was born, so I conclude that he was born in another parish. There was a Charles SMITH baptised in Kimersdon in 1758. He is the only one remotely close.
