Other information; We can identify this Ann SHEPHERD since her brother was living with her in the 1851 census, and we have identified him. In 1851, her 4-year-old granddaughter, Ann SHEPHERD, was living with her. The 1861 census reveals this child to be the daughter of James SHEPHERD, the illegitimate son of Ann SHEPHERD.
So we know that Ann SHEPHERD #3843 who married William PARFITT is someone else.
(Witness) Marriage
4 February 1805
She witnessed the Marriage of Joseph SHEPHERD and Rachel KNAPTON on 4 February 1805 at St Peter's, Stourton, Wiltshire, England.1
Other information; NBI has the burial of Ann PARFITT, aged 39 years, in Mere on 1 Dec 1823. However, this might also be #3843, the former Ann SHEPHERD, or the former Ann GOVER #6378. There is nothing in particular to link this particular Ann SHEPHERD as the one who married William PARFITT.
A 23-year-old William PARFITT was also buried in Mere on 30 May 1819.
Ann SHEPHERD married John ODBER, son of John ODBER and Mary LUCAS, on 10 August 1778 at St Peter's, Stourton, Wiltshire, England.1

Note*
Other information; Ann SHEPHERD #3864 is allocated as the daughter of William #1811 and Mary #2300 since she was the godmother of the son of Elizabeth SHEPHERD (later SHEARS) #6320. Since we know that Elizabeth was the daughter of William and Mary, we have allocated the same parents to Ann.
Also, at the baptism of Ann's daughter Elizabeth, the child's godmother was described as "Sall SHEPHERD the sister to Ann ODBER". For this reason, Sally (Sarah) SHEPHERD is also allocated to this family.
On the other hand, Stephen SHEPHERD was a witness at the wedding, and with this allocation there is no known relationship. Not imposible.
Married Name
Her married name was ODBER.

Census 1851*
Ann SHEPHERD was aged 51 in the 1851 census and lived at Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire, England.
Note*
Other information; This Ann SHEPHERD has been identified as being born in Stourton in 1800 from census records, but her parents are not yet identified. Checking godparents for her children did not resolve this.
Another Ann SHEPHERD, who was born in 1805 according to the census, has been allocated as the child of Joseph and Rachel. Ann SHEPHERD who married Henry GUPPY in 1829 in Mere, and was born in Stourton, named two of her children Joseph and Rachel.
Also, an Ann SHEPHERD married Anthony MOGER in 1832, and Christine SHEPHERD was a witness. I would expect that this would be her sister. However, the 1851 census has her brother Francis living with her (the one who married Anthony MOGER) so that would identify that woman.
Then the Ann SHEPHERD who married William PARFITT was another one. It looks like there were four of them at one time.
Mary SHEPHERD, who became Mary THOMPSON, was godmother to her children. Perhaps a sister?
