The baptisms for Hindon have been transcribed on the BVRI, but there does not appear to be any NORRIS families in Hindon. The BVRI has a baptism on 11 Jun 1774 for a Hanah d/o John & Mary MAISHMENT. Could they have meant MAIDMENT? Since this baptism was before the marriage, perhaps it was a sort of subterfuge. I viewed the original at the WSRO. It is very clear, and there is no mis-transcription. The burial records have this: 19 Feb 1774 Elizabeth wife of Luke MAISHMENT 2 Aug 1775 Luke son of John MARSHMENT 13 Jul 1775 John MAESHMENT There is also a baptism for William s/o John & Mary MAISHMAN 1 APr 1772. |
