Harry Ollis FRANCIS was baptised on 12 June 1870 at St Mary's, Kilmington, Somerset, England; Baptism record shows the child as "Harry s/o Francis & Elizabeth OLLIS."1
He married Elizabeth MARKEY, daughter of William MARKEY and Mary EDWARDS, on 17 November 1789 at St Peter's, Stourton, Wiltshire, England. At 37 years of age, it seems old for a first marriage. It may turn out that the Elizabeth MARKEY baptised in 1752 is not the one who married James FRANCIS in 1789.3

Note*
Other information; Reasons for assigning James FRANCIS as the father of Martha BRACHER's children: Martha BRACHER did not apply for parish relief and no bastardy bond was issued, which would indicate that she was being supported by the father of the child or children. In 1821 she was living with a blacksmith, James FRANCIS, who was then aged 62 yrs. Martha was 37 yrs old. Fifteen-year-old Narcissa and 10-year-old Mary were living with the couple. The way the 1821 census was recorded was quite different from later ones. Each household was "bracketed" together, then a notation was made as to number of houses and number of families. In the case of James FRANCIS, Martha BRACHER and her children, they were bracketed together and the notation was "1 house" and "1 family". This would indicate that James FRANCIS and Martha BRACHER were living together as man-and-wife, although not married. In 1831 James FRANCIS was listed as a smith and his household consisted of one male aged 20 years (ie. himself) and two females (presumably Martha and Mary BRACHER).
James FRANCIS had married Elizabeth MARKEY in 1789. They had three children, James, George and Abraham. James died aged 5 yrs and the other two grew to adulthood and married. In fact George's daughter Elizabeth married Thomas BRACHER, the illegitimate son of Fanetta BRACHER, sister of Martha. In other words, James FRANCIS' grandddaughter married Martha BRACHER's nephew.
