PRE- AND POST-CONGRESS TOURS FOR THE IPPA CONGRESS, HANOI, 2009

 

PRE-CONGRESS

POST-CONGRESS

 

We are planning four tours starting from Sunday 6 December. Bookings and any enquiries concerning these tours should be sent to ippa2009@vnn.vn before 1st November 2009.

Included in all tours:

HA NOI – HOA BINH (one day tour)

 

Depart from Hanoi in the morning to Hoa Binh (70km). You will visit Muoi and MaUoi Caves. After lunch, hosted by Hoa Binh provincial government, and a short rest, you will visit the Hoa Binh cultural exhibition put on specially by the government of Hoa Binh province for participants of IPPA. Transfer back to Hanoi in the afternoon with one stop at Tro Cave.

HA NOI – THANH HOA (2 days 1 night)

Day 1 : Ha Noi – Thanh Hoa       
Depart from Ha Noi to Thanh Hoa (130km). You will visit the Dong Son Cultural Museum and the Hoang Long Antiquities Museum. After lunch and a short rest, you’ll visit the “Dan te Nam Giao”, currently under excavation, where kings of the Ho dynasty (1400-1407) once carried out sacrifices. Dinner will be hosted by leaders of the Thanh Hoa provincial government.

Day 2 :  Thanh Hoa – Ha Noi      

Breakfast at Hotel, then back to Ha Noi with one stop at Con Moong Cave in Thach Thanh town.

HA NOI – HOI AN - HUE WORLD HERITAGE (3 days 2 nights)

Day 01: Ha Noi – Da Nang – Hoi An     
Fly to Da Nang and upon arrival we’ll visit the famous Cham Museum in Da Nang City, China Beach, Marble Mountain, and a marble-carving workshop. We proceed via the Cham temples at My Son to Hoi An, both World Heritage sites. In Hoi An we will explore the Hoi An Museum, the old Chinese merchants’ houses, Assembly Hall, and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Hoi An has been famous as an old trading port since the middle ages, so this is a walk back into past time. 

Evening at leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.

 

Day 02: Hoi An – Hue       
We transfer northward from Hoi An to Hue City – the ancient capital of Viet Nam. The trip will take five hours and there will be ample opportunity for photo stops and to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of Quang Nam and Thua Thien Provinces – “where the mountains meet the sea.” In the afternoon we take full advantage of the sights of Hue, especially the Imperial Citadel, then a leisurely boat-ride on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. Free time in the evening to enjoy this quiet, peaceful city. Overnight in Hue.


Day 3: Hue – Hanoi                       

This morning we visit one of the Royal Tombs, the burial place of King Tu Duc and learn something of the turbulent history of the Nguyen dynasty before departing for our flight back to Hanoi.

HA NOI – HA LONG  WORLD HERITAGE (2 days 1 night)

 

Day 1 : Ha Noi –Ha Long                                     

Depart from Ha Noi, passing through the beautiful countryside of the Red River Delta to Ha Long Bay (180km). Explore Ha Long City in the afternoon. Overnight in Ha Long City.

 

Day 2 :  Ha Long – Ha Noi                       

Breakfast at the hotel and take a 5-hour boat trip on Ha Long Bay passing the islands called locally “Fighting Cocks”, “Turtle” and Stone Dog”. Stop to visit Thien Cung and Dau Go Grottoes. A fresh seafood lunch will be served. Transfer back to Hanoi with one stop at Dong Trieu ceramic village.
