The First Announcement from the Organizing Committee in Vietnam

The Congress is coming near. We are happy to provide you with local information regarding weather, transportation, visa, post-conference tours and so on:

·       Weather: November and December are the early winter months. At that time, the temperature in Hanoi is around 20-25oC.

·       Transportation:

It is easy to take a taxi from Noi Bai international airport to your hotel for 250,000 VND and to return for 180,000 VND. The trip is about 50 minutes. You should use a Noi Bai taxi or an Airport taxi because they are cheaper than others. Also, you can take a Noi Bai minibus (with 15 seats) from Noi Bai airport to Hanoi, and return this way as well. It takes a bit longer but you only pay 30,000 VND one way. However, the bus will stop in Quang Trung street and you will take a taxi to your hotel. One thing to remember - if you want to take this bus from Hanoi back to Noi you must go to the Northern Office of Vietnam Airlines Corporation at 1 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, in order to buy minibus tickets.

For transportation inside the city, you can take a taxi or a bus. Taxis charge 11,500 VND per kilometer and buses 3,000 VND per stop. (NB: US $1 equals roughly VND 17,500 to 18,000)

·       Meals:

Lunch boxes will be served in the conference venue
