Lecturer: Dr Hiscock

Prerequisite: Introduction to Archaeology (PREH1111) and/or From Origins to Civilisations (PREH1112). Students without one of these units should consult the lecturer.

Syllabus: This unit explores our understanding of variability in archaeological assemblages. Case studies include archaeological variation in the Middle Palaeolithic in Europe, and the mid-Holocene technology of Australia. Alternative explanations of the complex variations in the archaeological record are examined.
