Thesis title: Human evolution and associated fossil mollusc remains

Many studies concerning the origins and dispersal of the genus Homo have looked at associated faunal remains in an attempt to build a better picture of the possible palaeoecologies of early humans. Generally, these faunal studies have focused on associated mammalian fossil remains, and often these are restricted to certain mammalian groups such as bovids and carnivores. In this study I focus on the molluscan remains associated with early Homo sites. Molluscs are often ignored when faunal remains at early Homo sites are discussed, yet they have the potential to add important information to our overall picture of human evolution.
